2023
After having tasted production and then directing on set, I discovered casting in 2002 and started training with various renowned casting directors.
It is thanks to remarkable films such as “Les Choristes”, “Le Petit Nicolas” or “La Famille Bélier” that I specialized for years in the casting of children and teenagers.
Since 2012 I have devoted myself more to adults alongside directors such as Dominik Moll, Valérie Lemercier, Laurent Tirard in cinema, and many fictions for french TV or platforms as recently “Drops of God” for Apple TV directed by Oded Ruskin.

Margery Simkin
USA
2020
USA
Born ant, New Jersey, Ms. Simkin attended the University of California, Santa Cruz and graduated with a B.A. in a major that had nothing to do with show business.
After working in the New York City non-profit arts world for a few years, she stumbled – with the assistance of a friend of a friend into film production. Her first job was the obligatory one of office grunt. To this day she remains very grateful for that job as it provided her with invaluable insight into almost every aspect of film production (she read everything she photocopied).
Slight exaggeration (i.e., lying) led to her first casting-related position: trolling NYC schools for children who looked like famous actors for a film. It turned out she had a good eye, which eventually led to an assignment to find non-professionals for the original FAME. More traditional casting work soon followed. She has since cast numerous projects, including such films as BEVERLY HILLS COP, TOP GUN, BRAZIL, FIELD OF DREAMS, TWELVE MONKEYS, IN AND OUT, BOWFINGER, ERIN BROCKOVICH, THE SCORE, FREEDOM WRITERS, MARLEY & ME, AVATAR (and the upcoming sequels) and the TV series STAR TREK: DISCOVERY (she is having trouble getting out of space)
Based now in Los Angeles, Ms. Simkin has had the privilege of working with many great directors including Terry Gilliam, Frank Oz, Danny DeVito, David Frankel and James Cameron.

United Kingdom
Victor is a multi award nominated Casting Director. He started his career in casting working for Lucinda Syson on the epic feature films TROY and Oliver Stone’s ALEXANDER. A little side step in to Indy film working on IT’S ALL GONE PETE TONG (underrated!) with Sam Chandley was followed (at the age of 24) by the opportunity to be the in house Casting Director for Hewland International. He spent 3 years there mainly working on the hit Sky One football drama DREAM TEAM which he took through to its final season. Wanting to expand his experience beyond in house he went on to become Casting Associate to the late Carrie Hilton, and then to Gary Davy for 2 years, working on a whole array of film and tv.
In 2010 he and fellow CD Kelly Valentine Hendry set up VHJ Casting, which over 7 years became known for casting many multi award winning shows including but not limited to BROADCHURCH, THE LAST KINGDOM, HUMANS, THE WRONG MANS, EPISODES (2 – 5) and FLEABAG as well as still running shows like GRANTCHESTER and UNFORGOTTEN. In 2017 it was time to go solo again and the first project as the newly set up VJC was the Netflix/BBC epic TROY: FALL OF A CITY, followed by shows such as the BBC’s WORLD ON FIRE, Amazon’s LEONARDO, Starz’ THE ROOK, and Sky’s DJANGO. Recent Film work includes Judd Apatow’s lockdown comedy THE BUBBLE for Netflix, and Baz Luhrmann’s short FLOWERS. He also has a long and successful collaborative relationship with Director Lewis Arnold and they are currently working on their 8th project together. Previous collaborations include CLEANING UP, DARK MONEY, award winning DES, the multi award winning SHERWOOD and the recent award winning THE LONG SHADOW. Other recent work includes REMATCH for HBO Europe, Alfonso Cuarón’s DISCLAIMER for Apple TV (co cast with Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann), Mark Williams’ SAFE HARBOR, THE KOLLECTIVE for Dutch production house Submarine, and PBS’ recent reboot of legendary French Detective MAIGRET.
He also co-runs The Casting Office Ltd with fellow CD Andy Brierley. Joint projects include THE WATCH for BBC America, Frank Doelger’s THE SWARM and CONCORDIA, and Peter Kosminsky’s THE UNDECLARED WAR.
He is based in London.
